The sister of the three “Newroz Night” martyrs, who were killed in the massacre in the industrial zone neighborhood of Jindires town said, “Our lives are in danger, our situation is more than catastrophic, and the martyrs were unjustly killed. We call on international organizations to intervene.”

In a recorded call with the Kurdish Rudaw TV channel, the sister of the martyrs of the Jindires massacre pointed to one of the bullet shells saying, “This is one of the bullets that hit the chest of our young men. You can see the suffering of the mothers of the martyrs on the media, but what the media reports does not match even a quarter of the actual suffering. The mothers and wives of the martyrs have gone on a hunger strike in protest.”

The martyr’s sister confirms that what the media reports generally does not exceed a quarter of what is happening in Afrin, and she says, “Our lives are in danger, and our situation is more than catastrophic. I do not know which entity I should address the international institutions or human rights organizations.”

The Kurdish woman calls on the Rudaw Kurdish channel to be their voice and convey it to the world, as the society in Jindires is oppressed, and the martyrs were unjustly killed. “They are the martyrs of March 20, they were not allowed to light the Newroz torch, but they lit the fire in our hearts to remain burning throughout our lives,” she added.

Adam Coogle, deputy director of the Middle East department at Human Rights Watch, said yesterday, “These killings come after more than five years of human rights violations that have not been addressed by Turkish forces and local Syrian factions supported by them. Turkey allowed these fighters to mistreat people living in the areas under its control with impunity, risking complicity in the violations.”
