Members of the Turkish-backed “Ahrar al-Sharqiya” militia kidnapped the citizen, “Nuri Muhammad,” (43 years old), from al-Barazi’s family, yesterday, Friday, because he refused to give them cigarettes for free.
“Nuri Muhammad” is a street vendor and sells cigarettes in Al-Ashrafieh neighborhood at the beginning of the industrial area in the occupied city of Afrin. The gunmen tried to get cigarettes from him without paying for it, and because he refused, they came the next day and took him with his belongings to an unknown destination.
Note that these gunmen were members of the “Jaysh al-Islam” militia, who turned to work within the “Ahrar al-Sharqiya” militia ranks, after the “Jaysh al-Islam” militia was pursued by the terrorist organization “Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham” and expelled from the occupied Afrin region.
It is noteworthy that 23 cases of arrest and kidnapping were documented during November 2022, from them17 civilians from Afrin, including a minor girl, and 5 IDP and gunmen. While 44 male and female citizens were arrested by the Turkish Border Guard (Gendarmerie).
