Residents displaced from Kafr Jannah fearing shelling

afrinpost – Exclusive

During the last two days, the village of Kafr Jannah in the Shara/Sharan district witnessed the displacement of civilians towards the city of Afrin, due to the Turkish artillery stationed in a military base in the village shelling al-Shahba areas from there, as well as their fear that the Syrian regime’s army would respond to the source of fire located in their village. This may endanger their lives, and they cannot sleep at night because of the loud sounds of artilleries intensively shelling the villages and towns of al-Shahba and its camps, according to our sources there.

Since this morning, the Turkish forces have been shelling the outskirts of the city of Tal Rifaat and the villages of Al-Wahshiyya, Al-Bailouniyah, Al-Alqamiya, Kafr Antoun, Tal Ajar, Tatamrash, Maraanaz, Deir Jamal and Harbel in the northern countryside of Aleppo, where the intense artillery and missile shelling continues until the moment of writing this report.

On the other hand, our reporter in the city of Afrin confirmed that there has been no change in the disposition of the military headquarters that are densely deployed inside the city, and no military alerts or mobilizations of the Turkish army and its affiliated “National Army” militias, following the threats made by the Turkish president to launch a new invasion against the areas under the control of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria.
