The Turkish-backed “Samarkand Brigade” militia kidnapped on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, a Kurdish citizen in Jindires sub-district, severely beaten and tortured him, then released him after receiving a large ransom from his family.

In the details, our sources stated that an armed force consisting of seven vehicles belonging to “Samarkand” militia surrounded and raided a house in the town of Jindires, and kidnapped the 32-year-old citizen ‘Muhammad Mahmoud Waqfi’, and took him to an unknown destination.

According to the sources, “the young man ‘Waqfi’, who is from the village of Kafar Safra, was subjected to severe torture, then was thrown hours later in one of Jindires streets. He is currently staying at his friend’s house, because the militia had seized his house in Kafar Safra village and turned it into a headquarters.”, adding that the militia released him in exchange for 10 thousand dollars.

The sources indicated that the young man “Waqfi” was staying with a friend of his in the city of Jindires after returning from the city of Aleppo about twenty days ago, until settling his situation with the Turkish authorities, in order to restore his seized house and return to his village.
