In the context of consolidating the demographic change in the occupied Kurdish region of Afrin, the village of Kafr Safra, affiliated with Jenderes district, is witnessing a unrestrained settlement activity by seizing agricultural lands or olive fields by force or purchasing them at attractive prices through dealers, to be sold per square meter as real estate records, while Muslim Brotherhood associations undertake construction work.
According to “afrinpost” sources, 170 olive trees were uprooted from a field owned by the Kurdish citizen Salah Rashid Muhammad from the village of Kafr Safra, and were sold, in preparation for the construction of a housing association, the area is known by the people as “Al Bizeh” and it is close to the landfill in the village of Kafr Safra, about 2 km east of the village of Kafr Safra. Each tree was sold for $650, and the buyers were merchants from the town of Qibtan al-Jabal and Kafr Naha – in the western countryside of Aleppo.
An olive field was purchased on the road between the villages of Yalanqoz and Kafr Safra to establish a housing association. The field includes about 200 olive trees, owned by the citizen Khalil Muhammad Haj Abdo – and IDPs from Qebtan al-Jabal and Kafr Naha bought them, with the help of dealers from Goran, for $100,000. (at a price of $500 per tree), and now the land is sold as real estate records, and the price per square meter is $15.
The housing association
The IDPs themselves (from Qatban al-Jabal and Kafr Naha) also bought agricultural land owned by the Kurdish citizen Ahmed Mahmoud Khorshid. It is an olive field with 165 trees, at a price of $350 per tree.
Work has begun on the construction of a housing association on the road between the villages of Sidanki/Zinda and Yalanqoz, between the lands of “Hajj Ghallouf.” In a nearby area, the land of Jalal Jala’out Murad al-Kurdi, from Kafr Safra, was seized by force, with the aim of building a rest stop and a fuel station.
A housing association is also being worked on on the agricultural land owned by the Kurdish citizen Awni Arabo. The land is located at a distance of 1200 meters west of the village of “Qorba.” The land is purchased at a price of $18 per square meter, and then the associations undertake its construction (Al-Ata’ Investment Associations Charity (Qatar) – AFAD – and Al-Noor Association (Turkey).
