A pro-Turkey media channel revealed the behavior and backgrounds of a number of leaders of the Turkish-backed militias known as the “National Army”, for whom Turkish intelligence had disturbed security sectors in the occupied Afrin region in northern Syria for their participation in the 2018 invasion of the region.

The source stated that the so-called “Muhammad al-Izzo al-Sheikh,” a leader in “Suqour al-Shamal” militia that occupies the village of Kurdo in Bulbul sub-district, has turned the border village into a smuggling point for people into Turkish territory using the military road with the cooperation of the Turkish Gendarmerie, pointing out that he get paid for each person $ 2,200.

The source added that the so-called “Sheikh” had previously raped a girl from “Al-Hishawi” family while trying to enter through smuggling routes in the village to Turkish territory, confirming that the scandal was wrapped by paying a ransom for the girl’s father.

The source noted that the leader of the militia in the village has other precedents of sexually assaulting the wives of his members, without being held accountable by the Turkish authorities, what brings to our minds the so-called “Abu Amsha,” the leader of the “Sultan Suleiman Shah” militia in Şiyê/ Sheikh al-Hadid district, who is famous for stories of raping his members’ wives and his criminal ways of kidnapping, murder and imposition of royalties.
