3 Kurdish citizens released after thirty months of enforced disappearance

The Turkish authorities released 3 Kurdish citizens who had spent years in detention, and their families have not been able to obtain information on their fate, as they were transferred from one prison to another.

“The Turkish authorities released yesterday, Tuesday, the Kurdish citizen, Abd al-Mannan Manla Muhammad bin Taher (64 years) and his son, Taher Manla Muhammad bin Abdul Mannan (22 years), from the village of Coqe / Juwaiq, who were kidnapped on 06/09/ 2018 by “al-Hamzat” militia and taken to an unknown destination” Our reporter stated.

“A number of members of Taher’s family were kidnapped on the same day, and they are: his father, Abd al-Mannan Manla Muhammad (64 years old) and his sister Rukan Manla Muhammad (27 years), who appeared in the video of the kidnapped women carrying a child on the day of Al-Hamzat headquarters was raided in Afrin on 05/28/2020m and she was released on 10/9/2020 from Marateh Prison after a being forcibly disappeared for 27 months” the reporter added.

The citizen Kawa Jamal Omar (34 years), who is the husband of the former kidnapped Rukan Abdul Manan Manla, was also kidnapped, as well as the citizen Muhammad Manla Abdul Karim Muhammad (43 years), and he was released months ago, while the fate of “Kawa” is still unknown.

Also, on Tuesday 2/3/2021, the Kurdish young man Lawand Muhammad Sheikho, (21 years), from the village of Dargire / Dar Al Kabir-Mabata / Maabatli sub-district, was released after spending thirty months in prison, and he was arrested by an armed group in 06/09/2018 in occupied Afrin. Private sources revealed that he was held until the end of 2019 in Sijju prison, and then he was transferred to another prison, where information about his fate was lost.
