Afrinpost correspondent reported that the so-called “Restoration of Rights and Grievances” committee visited the village of Meydanki five days ago, and met with the people who submitted some complaints about their living conditions, but everyone who sent a complaint is now threatened.
The complaints were about the various violations and acts of harassment against the people, such as cutting olive trees, grazing sheep in olive fields, public acts of theft, as well as taxes imposed by Brotherhood militias on the villagers.
It is noteworthy that three militias share control of the town of Meydanki and its vicinity, namely Al-Jabha al-Shamiya, “Sultan” and “Suqur al-Shamal”, and the militias are similar in their practices against the people.
With regard to the seizure of the property and homes of Kurdish citizens, afrinpost correspondent stated that more than 135 families from the town of Bulbule and nearby villages belonging to the sub-district live in rented houses in Afrin because they are prevented from returning to their homes in the district center and its villages, by gunmen, and therefore those families remained in the city of Afrin to date, while the homes were seized by settlers who had come from Homs governorate, including about 600 Turkmen families, in addition to settlers coming from the town of Hayyan.
