Security alert in vicinity of Nowruz roundabout, and Military Police is searching for ISIS escapees

Today, Sunday, the Nowruz roundabout in the center of the occupied Afrin region is witnessing a security alert, while the “Military Police” militia of the Turkish occupation is searching for the fourth consecutive day for two ISIS elements who were smuggled out of the occupation prisons.

The afrinpost correspondent reported that Turkish intelligence has mobilized its members at Nowruz roundabout in the center of the city, and is carrying out careful inspection procedures, especially for the cars that are carrying Kurds from Afrin. The reasons for the mobilization were not known and what the intelligence agents were looking for, adding that a dispute and verbal altercations had erupted between the occupation police and armed men from Liwaa al-Shamal militia.

In another context, members of the military police militia of the Turkish occupation raided the camp located in the Bazaar Square in the city of Afrin after receiving information that the two ISIS elements who had escaped from Rajo prison, and intended the camp to hide in it, and arrested 6 settlers, most of whom are from Idlib.

Yesterday, Saturday 01/23/2021, the afrinpost correspondent reported that two ISIS elements were detained in Al-Mahatta prison escaped, on Wednesday 20/1/2021, by the help of armed men from “Ahrar Al-Sharqiya” militia, which runs the prison that belongs to the “Military Police” militia.

The correspondent added that he learned that the destination of the escape was to the Turkish border, while the security authorities of the Turkish occupation did not move to search for them.

It is noteworthy that the prison located in Raju district is known as Al-Mahatta prison because it is located within the train station and is run by the Ahrar Al-Sharqiya militia. Dozens of the people of the district and some of the villages of the Ma’abatli district have been imprisoned in it, and it is known as one of the worst prisons due to the cruelty of its supervisors and their ill-treatment.
