Afrinpost – Special
Today, Wednesday 20/1/2021, the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria issued a statement, in which it condemned the Turkish aggression against Afrin region, describing “the liberation of Afrin and the occupied areas” as one of its priorities and strategies.
On the anniversary of the Turkish aggression against Afrin, the Autonomous Administration said that the occupation of Afrin, Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain) and Girê Spi (Tal Abyad) and the expansion of influence came within the framework of Turkey’s efforts to stand against the democratic project in northern and eastern Syria, which is – according to the statement – an important platform and fertile ground for the birth of the general Syrian solution.
In its statement, the Autonomous Administration affirmed that “the persistence of the Turkish occupier in Afrin is a danger to all of Syria without discrimination, calling for clarity on the Syrian positions in this direction, and it is necessary for all national forces keen on Syria and its democratic future to unite efforts against Turkey and its mercenaries and their practices against our people and their land. “.
The statement called on all international institutions, led by the United Nations and human rights organizations, to have effective positions regarding the policies that Afrin and the rest of the occupied territories are exposed to, which puts all international standards in a real test against what Turkey is doing, according to the statement.
The Autonomous Administration considered that without “liberating Afrin” there would be no stability or solution in Syria, and that “liberating Afrin and the rest of the occupied territories” is among its priorities and strategies.
