Media outlets keep silent about 70 militants of Suqour al-Sham suffocated in Qatma camp, Afrin

Afrinpost – Special

The Turkish occupation authorities and the media outlets affiliated with it are still silent about the fate of more than 70 militants from the “Suqour al-Sham” militia who were suffocated on the second of this month, in cases of suffocation in a training camp in the village of Qatma, and they were immediately transferred for treatment to the hospitals of Azaz and Afrin.

The afrinpost correspondent reported that more than 70 militants from the Suquor al-Sham militia were severely suffocated in the Qatma village camp on December 2, in a state of secrecy, and were subsequently transferred to Azaz Hospital, and a number of them are still being treated in the hospital.

The reporter added that 7 cases arrived at the Military Hospital in Afrin, and during their treatment, members of the medical hospital staff fainted due to the smell of gas.

There was conflicting information about the cause of suffocation, and sources stated that it was due to a fire. North-Press reported that the cause was due to the militants’ use of Birine for the purpose of heating after training, adding that about 500 militants from the “Suqour al-Sham” militia are undergoing a military training course at Qatma camp, and they are working in the countryside of Aleppo and Idlib.

It is reported that the occupation forces had supplied the militias with various types of weapons, including poison gas, and the Turkish forces used chlorine gas during the aggression on Afrin, and 6 civilians were suffocated in the village of Arandeh after Turkish artillery strikes fell on it.

Since the occupation of Afrin in March 2018, the village of Qatma / Sharan has been under the control of al-Shamiya Front militia. The headquarters of the National Army militia affiliated with the Turkish occupation and the Muslim Brotherhood are stationed there, as well as the headquarters of the so-called “Ministry of Defense” in Villa “Jamil Qurta” located on the main road (Aleppo – Afrin), and the leadership of the “Military Police” militia.
