The militia of Sultan Suleiman Shah, known as “Al-Amshat” in the countryside of Ma’abatli and Sheikh al-Hadid districts, imposed financial royalties on the remaining Kurdish citizens in their villages, with direct instructions from the militia leader, Muhammad al-Jasim Abu Amsha, the militia leader. The royalty includes paying a number of olive oil tanks to the militia.
This royalty comes after royalties from harvesting the season, in addition to acts of theft and looting of the season from the fields and the seizure of dozens of fields, according to the “Human Rights Organization Afrin – Syria”.
The royalty imposed on the village of Kakhreh / Ma’abatli is estimated at about two thousand oil tanks, and the militia formed a special committee headed by the so-called Abu Ragheb, the militia official in the village and a number of militants in addition to the mukhtar, and he started collecting oil tanks from the people, at a rate of 3 oil tanks from each family as a minimum. As for the families that do not have oil, they will not be exempted. They have to buy the imposed quantity and pay it to the militia, or pay a sum of 25 dollars for each oil tank imposed.
Royalties were imposed on other villages, and the numbers varied. In the village of Chaqala Tahtani, a total of 800 oil tanks were imposed, and in the village of Chaqala Wastani, a total of 700 tanks were imposed.
As for the owners of the 13 olive presses that are under the militia’s control, an amount of 250-500 oil tanks were imposed on each press.
It is reported that Sultan “Suleiman Shah” militia had published a video of the Mukhtar of Kakhreh village and a number of people to beautify the image of the militia and claim its good treatment with the people, after the news of Kurdish families being expelled from their homes in the village.
