Violent clashes erupted this morning, between “al-Zenki” militia and the “Failaq al-Majd” in the city of Jinderes in the countryside of the occupied Afrin region, against the backdrop of the first party arresting a settler affiliated with the second party, due to a dispute over the right to seize the house of an expelled Kurdish citizen.
According to afrinpost correspondent, the clashes took place in the streets of Jinderes city since last night, to renew the clashes on Sunday morning in a more violent manner, which lasted until noon, and resulted in the killing of a militant from the “Failaq al-Majd” and wounding 14 wounded on both sides.
The correspondent explained that the “al-Zenki” gunmen arrested yesterday, Saturday, a settler from the town of Zamalka of the countryside of Damascus called “Maher Abu Al-Fouz”. More than 25 armed men and four vehicles participated in the arrest and took Maher to an unknown destination. Then a group called “Firas Bitar” affiliated with the “failaq al-Majd” militia, intervened and sent a threat to “al-Zenki” militia in the event that the Damascene settler was not released, but they refused, which prompted them to attack the headquarters of “al-Zenki” militia, and violent armed clashes broke out, especially in the “Yalanquz” neighborhood. in the town, where the headquarters of “al-Zenki” militia was targeted by an RPG launcher what led to its burning.
The “Ahrar al-Sharqiya” militia diverted mediation between the two parties to calm the situation, but it was unable to do so, so the “Military Police” and “Rights Restoration Committee” militia intervened between the two parties, and negotiations are still without reaching any results so far, and tension still hangs over the town in the middle of armed vehicles continued to spread in the streets, as well as snipers were distributed on the rooftops.
