Sites affiliated with the Turkish occupation reported a statement issued by the head of the Antakya Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Hikmat Shinchin, after denouncing the export of olive oil by cooperative societies from the occupied Kurdish region of Afrin in northern Syria to the United States.
On November 19, Shinchin said that there are attempts to export 90 thousand tons of olive oil, through representatives of agricultural credit cooperatives, who went to New York to market olive oil coming from Afrin, Syria, adding: “I think this behavior is not correct.”
He added that “the agricultural cooperative is constantly sinking (losing) despite the fact that the previous administration put money in the treasury of the cooperative,” explaining that “the cooperative enjoys getting a commission on every ton of oil (if it is exported to America) without doing anything, and this is against the law.” “.
The policies of the occupying Turkish forces and the Brotherhood militias affiliated with them in Afrin have led to environmental and humanitarian disasters, amid the neglect of the international community that has deafened its ears and turned a blind eye to the harassment of citizens and the usurpation of their rights and freedoms, prompting human rights institutions to renew their continuous demands to put an end to the Turkish incursion into the Syrian territories, and stopping the violations committed by Ankara against the Syrian citizens.
