“If you do not go out, we will accuse you of working with the Autonomous Administration.” With this sentence, gunmen from the “Shamiya” militia affiliated with the Turkish occupation and the Muslim Brotherhood organization threatened a Kurdish woman and expelled her from her home in Ashrafieh neighborhood in the center of the occupied Kurdish region of Afrin in northern Syria.
According to the “Afrinpost” correspondent at the center, the “al-Jabha al-Shamiya” militia, which occupies sectors of Ashrafieh neighborhood, expelled the Kurdish woman, Umm Abdo, from her home with her family 6 months ago, after threatening her, taking advantage of her weakness as a widow with two young boys.
In the details, the reporter says that the armed men of the “al-Jabha al-Shamiya” militia raided the house of the Kurdish woman, and told her: “This house is ours, and if you do not leave it, we will accuse you of having been working with the Party, and this is what may keep you in our basements for many years,” according to them.
Then a gunman from the al-Jabha al-Shamiya told Ms. Umm Abdo in secret, “If you want I will take you out of Afrin, because they will arrest you.” So the woman fled Afrin without knowing her destination, while a settler called “Umm Ali” lives in her house.
The reporter did not rule out that the gunman who smuggled the Kurdish woman was basically complicit with the rest of the militia’s militants, by playing the role of her savior, in order to intimidate her and urge her to flee, by fabricating a single exit in front of her, which brings money to them by smuggling fleeing Afrin on the one hand and robbery of their livelihoods that remain behind them on the other hand.
