Pictures: Occupation authorities dismantle and steal the railways in Afrin region

Afrinpost – Special

Afrinpost learned from its sources that the “Sultan Murad” militia of the Turkish occupation and the Muslim Brotherhood organization dismantled large parts of the Eastern Express Line in the occupied Afrin region, and sent them to the Turkey.

The militia, which is based in the “Suleiyman Hall” building – Rajo Road, after Maabatli Junction, two years ago dismantled and stole the railways of the Orient Express line that was established in 1912, near the village of Ain Hajar Sharqi until Jisr Hasan Mishkeh – Katakh (3 km long), and transported it by vehicles at night, after the closure of all roads and under the supervision of Turkish intelligence, most likely to Turkey, where it can be used or recycled, as part of the occupation’s plan to destroy and steal the strategic Syrian infrastructure.

The Islamic militia had looted the tracks of the same line, starting from the city of Aleppo and reaching the city of Azaz (40 km long), during their control of the northern countryside of Aleppo between 2012-2016.

It should be noted that the infrastructure in Afrin region remained intact throughout the era of the Autonomous Administration, but the Turkish occupation and the Islamic militias affiliated to it were almost completely eliminated on them, a large part of the telephone, communication, water, electricity and other service infrastructure was destroyed, which was subjected to looting and systematic destruction.
