“Al-Sharqiya” militia opens a wood trading center in Khalata, Janders, which is cut from the coniferous forests adjacent to the village.

Afrinpost – Special

There are no accurate statistics of the number of trees that have been cut down in Afrin region, which is occupied by Turkey and the militia of the Muslim Brotherhood organization, except for the scenes from there that reveal a great aspect of the truth, as the mountain tops have turned into empty after they were dense forests.

Afrin Post learned from its sources that the Ahrar al-Sharqiya militia, which occupies the village of Khalata-Jenderes, has established a center to collect firewood from the pine and cypress trees that are cut from the mountains surrounding the village, to be sold for the benefit of the aforementioned militia. Most firewood is distributed to the settlers, and not to the Kurdish families remaining in the villages.

It is noteworthy that the logging operations increased their frequency and was practiced randomly, and the goal is financial gain with lower temperatures and the entry of winter and the associated increased demand for firewood, and armed men are practicing logging and doing it individually and cutting trees as agreed upon, and transporting firewood on motorcycles to a shop that sells firewood in Afrin – on Jenderes Road.
