The Turkish occupation militias continue to target the olive season by carrying out looting, theft and robbery, in addition to imposing royalties in various ways.
In the context, Afrinpost correspondent in Rajo district said that the so-called “Shadi”, leader of the “Sultan Muhammad al-Fateh” militia, in the village of Ma’amla, confiscates half of the oil from the village’s displaced people who delegated their relatives to harvest their olive crops. He pointed out that the confiscation process is carried out in the village’s oil press, according to lists of names of the displaced from the village.
For its part, “Failaq al-Sham” militia imposes a royalty amounting to 50% of the crops of the displaced people of the village of Deke / Bulbul, provided that the royalty is not less than two cans of olive oil.
In the village of Hekje, which is affiliated with the Shiye / Sheikh al-Hadid sub-district, “Al-Waqqas” militia imposes a royalty of 25% on the total olive oil product, in addition to charging farmers the value of the empty cans, which are also four thousand Syrian pounds. The militia also imposes a fee for “protecting the fields” in addition to the harvest expenses, transportation, and pressing.
