Residents of the villages of Basuta, Ghazouia and Shadera, in Sherawa district in the countryside of the occupied Kurdish region of Afrin in northern Syria, sell the kilo of pomegranates at a low price, out of fear of being stolen by the militants of the Turkish occupation militias and the Muslim Brotherhood organization, who call themselves the “Syrian National Army”.

The Afrinpost correspondent in southern Afrin reported that the people are losing a lot in the pomegranate season this year, saying that they sell one kilo for 50 SYP only so as not to be stolen by the militants of “Failaq al-Sham” and “Hamza Division” militias.

The correspondent indicated that the gunmen enter the groves of the people at night and steal the pomegranates, and the source added that some gunmen sell pomegranates in the markets after they were stolen without ripening.

The correspondent indicated that some of the people harvested their pomegranates before they were ripe, and sold them in the markets for fear of theft that the militia gunmen pursue on a daily basis.

And every season for any fruit or vegetables, the militants resort to robbery to fill their pockets with the money of others, under the planning of the Turkish occupation.

And previous reports by Afrin Post stated that the Muslim Brotherhood’s militants stole the walnut season, and the sumac season was stolen from various regions of the occupied Kurdish region.
