Afrinpost – Special
The Turkish occupation authorities and their militias continue to impose royalties on the olive season, in implementation of the policy of impoverishment, starvation and depletion of energies against the remaining indigenous Kurds in the occupied Afrin region in northern Syria, with the aim of displacing them
In the context, the Afrinpost correspondent said that the armed men of the “Failaq al-Sham” militia associated with the Muslim Brotherhood, plundered olive crops from the fields belonging to two residents of the village of Der Ballut / Jenderes, despite their presence in the village. He pointed out that the looted field of one of them has 60 olive trees, while the other field trees has 70 trees.
The reporter indicated that the acts of theft by the gunmen and settlers continue day and night, in addition to the royalties imposed by the militia on every farmer in the village, which range from oil to 5 tanks depending on the number of trees owned by each farmer from the village residents.
On the other hand, the Local Occupation Council imposes a rate of 7% on the oil product in the city of Jenderes and its villages, meaning that it takes 7 packages of oil for every hundred packages of olive oil from every farmer in the district.
It is reported that the Islamic militias affiliated with the Turkish occupation issued successive royalty tariffs imposed on olives, which are independent of the taxes collected at the end of the season, and the new tax ranged from 40 cents, which is equivalent to a thousand Syrian pounds to two dollars per olive tree.
