Afrinpost – Special
Within the policies of restrictions on the indigenous people of Afrin, the Islamic militias affiliated with the Turkish occupation and the Muslim Brotherhood organization continue to kidnap Kurdish citizens and arrest them by storming homes, or at checkpoints that resemble “bandits” in order to collect money in the name of “bail”.
On Sunday, September 20, the Political Security militia arrested a Kurdish youth on his way to the center of the occupied Afrin region, under the pretext of performing his “duty of self-defense” during the previous “Autonomous Administration” period.
The reporter added that the security checkpoint of the “Political Security” militia at the eastern entrance to the city of Afrin (al-Qaws checkpoint) arrested the citizen Jankin Othman (28 years) while he was on his way from his village of Kafar Janneh to the city of Afrin, heading to his work ( he works in a sewing workshop), and he was taken away to an unknown destination, and no additional information was received about his situation.
In a related context, the correspondent of “Afrinpost” at the district center stated that the “Ahrar Al-Sharqiya” militia, on Saturday afternoon / the nineteenth of September, raided a house and kidnapped two brothers.
The reporter was able to identify the identity of the two brothers, namely Idris Haji (55 years) and Nabi Haji (34 years), during which the gunmen looted the car of citizen Idris Hajji, which is a red “Saba” color. They also stole an amount of money he was in possession of. The reporter said that the fate and reasons for the raid and kidnapping are unknown.
Arrests and kidnappings continue in the occupied Kurdish region, and target all age groups, and are carried out arbitrarily according to ready-made charges. Last August witnessed an unprecedented record of the number of citizens who were arrested and kidnapped, reaching 118 people.
