Maysaloon School was closed in Afrin Center due to Corona

Afrinpost-Special

The correspondent of “Afrinpost” at the center of the occupied Kurdish region of Afrin, northern Syria, said that the Turkish occupation authorities closed the “Maysaloon School” in Ashrafieh neighborhood on the Aleppo-Afrin road, due to the discovery of a student being infected with Corona virus.

The reporter added that the rest of the students, who were in the division where the infection appeared, were isolated and sent to the hospital for examination.

Weeks ago, the Turkish occupation authorities and the Muslim Brotherhood militias stopped registering in schools in the occupied Afrin region, and in return, the opening of Quran memorization centers and mosques increased, while the Kurdish people feared sending their children to schools because of their pursuit by the militants.

On the 16th of September, Afrinpost correspondent reported that the Turkish occupation and its militias have stopped registering students in all schools since the beginning of this month, and have also prevented private schools, without explaining the reasons for this.

The correspondent indicated that some citizens – we reserve their names for security reasons – went to register their children in schools, but the concerned authorities informed them that registration had stopped without specifying the time period, and clarifying whether the suspension was temporary for a specific period.
