The Islamic militias affiliated with the Turkish occupation and the Muslim Brotherhood, in the occupied Kurdish region of Afrin, northern Syria, are forcing Kurdish girls to marry armed men without their will and under threat of death.

The correspondent of “Afrinpost” in the district center said that the Turkish occupation and its militias are forcing Kurdish girls to marry without their will, amid the increase in child marriage in Afrin after its occupation.

The reporter indicated that this was what happened with the daughter of “Khalil Jaafar” in the city of Afrin, where the militant “Raed Amr” of the “Ahrar Al-Sharqiya” militia threatens to kidnap the family and even kill them, if they refuse, while the girl does not want him knowing that the girl is engaged to a young man else.

A source told our correspondent that the same gunman was a former ISIS operative in Deir Ezzor, and after the occupation of Afrin, he came to the Kurdish region and joined the “Ahrar Al-Sharqiya” militia, and he stood on Al-Vellat Street in Afrin, and said, “Here to stay and growing” referring to ISIS terrorist organization.

The reporter added that another incident took place with a girl in the town of “Jenderes, who refused to reveal her name.

It is noteworthy that earlier reports revealed that the rate of child marriage has increased to 40% after Turkey and its militias occupied Afrin, due to the fear of the people of the militants, while this phenomenon was completely eliminated during the era of the “Autonomous Administration”, which enacted decisions to protect women and safeguard their rights.
