Yesterday, Tuesday, the Syrian regime arrested an Afrin deportee coming to it from the city of Aleppo, at the entrance checkpoint of the “Al-Shahba canton,” which provoked the anger of the people and prompted them to demonstrate in opposition to the practices of the regime forces, as the people gathered and demanded the regime forces to release him.

According to the Afrinpost correspondent in aA-Shahba, in the hours of yesterday noon, the Syrian regime arrested at its last checkpoint heading from the city of Aleppo to the Al-Shahba regions, Majid Muhammad Sido Mimi, who is 40 years old.

The correspondent stated that the citizen “Majid” was coming from the city of Aleppo and was arrested without reason, and that the citizen is from the village of “Ka’ani Gewrikeh”, which is affiliated with “Jenderes” district in Afrin countryside.

In response to these practices by the Syrian regime, including arresting and imposing a siege on the people of Al-Shahba, dozens of people demonstrated in front of the Syrian regime’s checkpoint located in the area of events, rejecting the transgressions, and chanting angry slogans, as they demanded the release of the detained Kurdish citizen and to stop harassing the displaced people of Afrin there.

The regime’s desire to besiege Afrin people and prevent them from entering Aleppo is due to its desire to punish them, because it considers them to have refused to accept its central rule, at a time when the Islamic militias known as the “Free Army” affiliated with the Turkish occupation and the Muslim Brotherhood have contributed to achieving the regime’s goal by eliminating the most successful model for regions not subject to its central authority.
