The “Sultan Murad Squad” militia affiliated with the Turkish occupation and the Muslim Brotherhood organization cut down four old trees in the village of “Za’reh” in the “Bulbul” district in the countryside of the occupied Kurdish region of Afrin in northern Syria, while the owner of the trees attacked the militia’s headquarters.

The Afrinpost correspondent at Bulbul Center reported that the “Sultan Murad Squad” militia cut down four old trees belonging to the citizen, Azad Za’reh.

The reporter added that Azad went to his land and found the four trees, which dated back to 110 years, were cut down, so he began to cry over the trees, and cursed the Turkish occupation and its militias.

Azad also attacked the headquarters of the “Sultan Murad” militia, and asked them “Why did you cut down these trees.” The gunmen answered him and said, “Because these trees are ours.”

The cutting down of trees comes in the context of militias’ efforts to log trees and sell them, as the “Military Police” militia in Bulbul has ensured that the trees are uprooted in Bulbul district, especially in the village of “Za’reh”, while the Turkish occupation and its armed men seek to bury and kill Afrin’s history.
