A checkpoint of the “Ahrar Al-Sharqiya” militia affiliated with the Turkish occupation and the Muslim Brotherhood organization, near the center of the occupied Kurdish region of Afrin in northern Syria, extorts civilians and plunders money from them under false pretenses.

The “Afrinpost” correspondent at the center stated that that “Ahrar al-Sharqiya” checkpoint, near the village of “Ain Hajar” at the western entrance to the city, extorts civilians, and mentioned two incidents that occurred with Kurds of Afrin’s original inhabitants.

The reporter mentioned that this checkpoint asks the Kurds questions such as: “Did you work with the Autonomous Administration, and did you serve the compulsory service, give us your identity.” Then they say, “You are wanted, give us $ 500! We will give you the clearance certificate.”

The reporter added that this happened with the Kurdish citizen “Muhammad Khalilako”, who went to Afrin and returned, and they took his motorcycle from him, then he went again, and they asked him to pay 700 Turkish liras, after which Muhammad had to flee to the Turkish city of Gaziantep, after he paid a smuggler $ 1500.

This also happened with the Kurdish citizen “Ibrahim Muhammad” from “Mobata / Ma’batli”, where the checkpoint took 200 Turkish liras from him, under the pretext that he forgot the papers of his motorcycle at home, and the reporter indicated that the two incidents occurred during the days of Eid, and added: “Civilians are fed up with the violations of these militants who loot everything.

The royalties are only a continuation of the robbery, seizure and imposition of royalties that have continued since the occupation of Afrin
