Two settlers killed and three wounded in an explosion in Al-Ashrafieh, Afrin

Afrinpost – Special

On Friday evening, an explosive device exploded in Al-Ashrafieh neighborhood in the occupied Afrin region, in northern Syria, which was placed in the corner of a residential building in the vicinity of the Maysaloun School, killing and wounding five settlers.

Afrinpost correspondent at the district center said that the explosion resulted in two people dead, one of them (the armed man Abdullah Azyun from the Free Police Militia), along with 3 serious injuries.

In a separate context, dozens of settlers from the eastern region went out on Friday, in a demonstration that started from the villas highway point, and toured the city and ended with the formation of a sit-in for only half an hour in front of the headquarters of the Turkish governor (the former Legislative Council of Afrin).

The protesting settlers demanded to meet with the Turkish governor to demand the release of the leader of the dissolved militia “Al-Sharqiya Martyrs’ Group” called “Abu Khawla al-Mu Hassan”, but he did not meet them, and the reporter stated that the “civil police” militia and Turkish intelligence promised to deliver their message to the Turkish governor.

Most of the bombings occur within the framework of settling accounts between the competing militias on the areas of influence, barriers and royalties, in addition to using the explosions to carry out looting and robbery in the vicinity of the target area.
