Brothels have spread significantly in the Kurdish region of Afrin after the military occupation by Turkey and its Islamic militia on March 18, 2018, all of which are run by leaders backed by the Turkish occupation.
In this context, “Afrinpost” was able to obtain the number of brothels that were opened by the leaders of Islamic militias in the Afrin neighborhoods through a source in the city.
The source told “Afrinpost” that opening a brothel in Afrin is very easy: “You only need to book a night for several Turkish soldiers to allow you and facilitate the opening of the brothel.”
The source pointed out that there are 37 brothels in Afrin, and he also added: “There are 10 houses in Mahmudiyah neighborhood, 20 in the Ashrafieh neighborhood, and 7 in Zaydiyah neighborhood, this is what I got, and the number may be much more.”
The source added that the leader in the militia of the “Al-Jabha Al-Shamiya” is running the affairs of these brothels with the Turkish occupation, and added: “The leader is Nidal Al Bayanouni, and he is the one who is doing things and facilitates the opening of brothels, and Turkish soldiers are also encouraging to do so.”
The source noted that most of those who work in these homes are women and men settler: “Some have turned this matter into a source of livelihood after Turkey cut the salaries.”
At a time when Islamic militias are practicing the role of sponsoring prostitution in Afrin, large groups of Kurdish women, from the indigenous people of Afrin, are still kidnapped by the militants of the Muslim Brotherhood, as each of the militias ot the so-called “Syrian National Army / Army ”, own its special detention centers where all types of torture and abuse of Kurdish women and youth are practiced.
