Afrinpost – Special
Organizations of the Turkish occupation and Muslim Brotherhood militants in the occupied Kurdish Afrin region practice racism against the Kurdish indigenous people, where settlers are given everything, but Kurds are withheld under various pretexts.
After the bombing that hit Afrin a few days ago, the organizations granted 1000 euros to each settlement family who lost a member in the bombing, but they did nothing to the Kurds, knowing that 9 of the Afrin residents lost their lives in the bombing.
According to the sources of “Afrinpost”, a group of 34 organizations are working in the region occupied by the Turkish Occupation and the Muslim Brotherhood in the occupied region.
The sources mentioned the names of these organizations, which are: “Al-Shafaq Organization, Al-Haqq Organization, Al-Rahma Organization, IHH Organization, Al-Ikhlas Organization, Al-Iman Organization, Al-Risala Organization, Liwa Al-Islam Organization, Rayat Al-Islam Organization, Grass, Ihsan, Takaful, Children of One World, Ihya’ Al-Amal, Li’anak Insan, Al-Qalb Al-Kabir, Sima, Samz, Doctors Without Borders, Education Without Borders, Madad, Mercy Without Borders, Support Coordination Unit, Free Doctors, SRD, Syria Relief, Qatar Charity, Syria Sheretti, Ataa, Afaq, Bahar, EYD, International Relief Commission, Afad. ”
Racist attitudes and arguments for not providing relief to the Kurds
According to the sources of “Afrinpost” all the employees of these organizations are settlers, while a small number of them are the indigenous Kurds of Afrin, and in the context of the racist attitudes of these organizations, “Yasmine / a pseudonym” working with one of the organizations in Afrin, said: “ My friend told me that she was the only Kurdish woman in the organization she works in, and their organization wanted to move from one project to another, but the settler employees refused to take her with them, so my friend left the organization.
“The organization was on a tour to the Mobata district, and I knocked on the doors of some Kurdish homes, but I stopped after harassment from the organization’s settler staff,” she added, quoting her friend.
Yasmine indicated that there is a clear racism by the organizations and “they mean that the Kurds will not be given any aid under the pretext that they have olives and property, while the Islamic militia took over all the olives and properties.” Yasmeen noted that they dismissed Kurdish employees of the organization on the pretext that they do not accept two relatives in the same organization.
Fabricating arguments and excuses
In this regard, a Kurdish woman, who requested anonymity, said: “My husband died 8 years ago, almost at the beginning of the Syrian crisis, the Islamic militia took over my house in the village and stole all my property and I am now with some relatives in Afrin. Earlier, I went to several organizations to register my name in order to receive relief aids, but all the organizations refused, arguing that my husband was a YPG, while on the death certificate it was mentioned that he died 8 years ago from cancer.
People with special needs are not excluded from racism
Another Kurdish citizen from Afrin called “Hevidar / a pseudonym” said: “We asked several organizations to provide a chair for people with special needs for my relative, but all the organizations refused to give him, on the pretext that we are rich and have property”, and added, “Since two years no Organization came and knocked on our door or gave us relief aid. ”
While the citizen, “Hevi / a pseudonym,” stated: “All the relief and assistance goes to the settlers and the organizations appear to have intentionally apparently with a Turkish request, because all the organizations are instructing Turkish orders, every settler brings with him a gunman to the organization in order to get relief first, and several problems occurred in front of the organizations for this. The reason is, the members of the organizations tell us that you have olive fields, you have people in Europe and you do not need relief. ”
It is noteworthy that the Turkish occupation and its militias have worked from the first day of the occupation of Afrin completely on the eighteenth of March, to empty the region, rural and city, of its contents, by stealing everything, in addition to the seizure of the property of the displaced Kurds, including agricultural seasons, homes and real estate, along with the systematic targeting of the Kurds with continuous kidnappings with the aim of obtaining financial ransoms, in order to impoverish them and push them for forced displacement from their lands.
