Residents in the occupied Afrin region are living in difficult conditions, as a result of royalties, looting and plundering of their property and sources of livelihood and lack of employment opportunities, to further exacerbate with the overcrowding of settlers brought by the Turkish occupation from the conflict areas in Syria, which raises fears of a greater catastrophe if the Coronavirus spreaded in the region.
The prices of sanitizers and cleaning supplies increased by more than 50% as a result of the increased demand for them, with the spread of the Corona virus.
The Afrinpost reporter at the Territory Center monitored the basic needs in markets and their prices, indicating an unprecedented rise in the prices of foodstuffs and medicines, and the loss of some cleaning and sterilization materials.
Prices of vegetables: tomatoes: 600 SP – potatoes: 475 SP – zucchini: 2000 SP – lemon: 2500 SP – garlic: 5000 SP – cucumber 2500 SP – onion: 800 SP – peppers : 4000 SP – mint and carrots: 300 SP – radish: 500 SP.
Fruit prices: orange 650 SP – apple: 750 SP – banana: 750 SP .
Fuel prices: gas cylinder: 11000 SP – gas: 850 SP – diesel: 800 SP.
