Islamic militias affiliated with the Turkish occupation and the Muslim Brotherhood continue to sabotage and destroy the archaeological sites spread throughout the occupied and occupied Kurdish Afrin region, in search of archaeological treasures, in addition to striking the historical and national identity of the occupied territory.

In connection with this, the Afrinpost reporter in the city center said that gunmen from the “Hamza Squad” militia, under the supervision of the Turkish Intelligence, are carrying out digging and razing activities that affect archaeological tombs located in the famous archaeological site of Brad, located in the Shirawa district at the foot of Mount Lilon .

The reporter obtained information from an armed man who comes from the countryside of Damascus, who is participating in the excavation work on the archaeological site, confirming that the work is currently continuing on the site, and it generates large sums of money for the participants in sabotaging the effects of the region.

The reporter confirmed that that gunman had managed to disregard the group’s leader, and stole antique pieces, which were found after a tomb was buried in one of the tombs in the “Brad” site, indicating that the gunman belonging to the “Hamza” militia was trying to sell it in the city to antiquities dealers .

The reporter pointed out that the 5 metal pieces, had pictures of archaeological sculptures similar to those on the walls of the Tel Ein Dara archaeological temple, confirming that the group participating in excavation and digging out the graves found a pottery coffin, in addition to empty pottery jars.

In addition, the Afrinpost learned from other sources that the militia “Al Hamza” carried out about twenty days, bulldozing and digging works in an archaeological area located between the villages of “Marateh” and “Gundi Mazen”, adding that these activities are currently suspended due to the rainstorms.
