After the Carnival of the Culture and Art Authority was held on Saturday, the first days of the Mitan Theatrical Festival in its fourth season were launched on Sunday, in the Culture and Art Hall in the Juvenile District of Al-Shahba regions, according to the Afrinpost correspondent.
The opening was attended by representatives of the bodies of Self-Democratic organizations, the Board of Directors of Al-Shahba Province, the Star Conference, the Future Syria Party and the families of the martyrs, where the opening tape was cut by the mothers of the martyrs, and the festival started with a minute of silence on the souls of the martyrs of the resistance in Afrin and all of northern Syria, against the Turkish occupation and the Muslim Brotherhood militia who call themselves the “Syrian National Army / Free Army”.
After that, a short documentary was shown about the suffering and tragedy of the people of Afrin during their displacement through Jabal Al-Ahlam Road, reviewing the stages of their forced exit from Afrin.
Then, the Mitan Festival honored cultural and artistic figures who participated in establishing the infrastructure of the Culture and Art Center from the people of Afrin, after which speeches were delivered by the Joint Chairperson of the Culture and Art Authority Media Hamdak and the coordinator of the Star Conference Hadiya Yusuf.
The words praised the strength and determination of the people of Afrin to adhere to their homeland, soil and culture even in the context of forced displacement, stressing that the presentation of the Mitan Festival is proof of that, as the words confirmed that the continuation of the people in that spirit of resistance would be a guiding light to bring them back to Afrin.
The festival also presented another documentary about what it reached and what the Mitan Festival achieved throughout its third season, based on the words of those who participated in it in Afrin, to present another theatrical performance of the animated dolls about a person’s will that changes destiny.
The presentations are based on 10 theatrical passages: “The Golden Crown (Taca Zêrîn), It Was Just a Joke (Tenê henek bu), Olympiad (Olombıyed), shout (Qêrîn), Tarif Haidu (êkenuka HeydoB), the birdless room (Odey bê Çuk Tu bı xêr hatî Cuhe, Nesrin (Nesrîn), Derwîşê Ebdê, black stripes (tên ReşXe) ”.
The shows will continue over 12 days from the date of the start of the festival, with the participation of about 100 members of the forcibly displaced people of Afrin. Mitan Festival differs in its fourth season in Al-Shahba Province from the rest of the seasons in previous years, due to the atmosphere of displacement and violations practiced by the Turkish occupation army and the militants of the Islamic militias affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood, from the continuous shelling and the siege imposed on Shahba, and the occupation crouching on the chest of the people of Afrin
