Afrinpost – Special
Since last month, the regime forces have been arresting the Kurdish engineer Abdeen Bakr, from the village of Anqilah / Shiye, without receiving any information about his fate so far.
Bakr was arrested on 16/10/2019 by the 4th Division checkpoint as he was traveling from Kobani city to Aleppo via Manbij city, to visit his family there, to be handed over to the Military Security Branch, and since then he has no news of his relatives, although he suffers from poor health.
Abdeen, a civil engineer, was arrested earlier this year on the same road, but was released after spending about a month in the regime’s prisons.
The Syrian regime’s checkpoints prevent the residents of the occupied Afrin region from traveling overland to their areas of control, without revealing their reasons, since the territory came under the occupation of the Turkish army and its Islamic militia, forcing the residents to pay huge amounts of money to smugglers, or to fly from an airport from Qamishli to Damascus to Aleppo, in order to reach the city of Aleppo, where most of the Afrinis there own real estate and shops, especially in the neighborhoods of Sheikh Maksoud, Ashrafieh, Bustan Al-Basha and others.
