Armed Islamic militias affiliated with the Turkish occupation continue to blackmail the remaining indigenous Kurds in various ways and exploit them in their property until their last farewell.
In this context, Afrinpost received several cases in which the gunmen extorted the indigenous Kurds, who own houses occupied by the settlers since the Turkish military occupation of the Kurdish region on 18 March 2018.
In the neighborhood of Mahmudiya in the city of Afrin, one of the leaders of the militia of “Ahrar al-Sharqiya” contacted a Kurdish citizen to come and receive his house located in the vicinity of the Electricity Company from them, because he will evacuate it in order to join the battles of Turkish aggression on areas of northern Syria within the so-called invasion of “Peace Spring”, after he turned the house into a military headquarters.
Later, when he went to them, the Kurdish landlord was surprised by the request of the gunman, the leader of the “Eastern” militia, when he printed (150 thousand Syrian pounds / approximately $ 250) for returning the house.
When the Kurdish citizen refused to pay that kickback, since the gunmen had seized it for more than a year and a half without paying rent, the gunman threatened that they would destroy the contents of the house, the windows, doors and others if he did not pay, forcing the Kurdish owner to pay that amount to take over his house, according to Afrinpost reporter in the city.
The correspondent added that there have been similar cases occurred in different parts of Afrin, in the area of Marat / Marati roundabout, armed militia from the militia “Sultan Mehmed Fatih Brigade” asked for a sum of money in return for returning an apartment to the original owner after it occupied all over the past period without any right.
